Dear friend/neighbor, Sacramento is the most flood-vulnerable city in the United States. We have been hit by three devastating storms in the past 20 years that have threatened widespread, uncontrolled urban flooding in our community. I am writing to ask you join me in voting YES on increasing the annual flood assessment. This new flood assessment – only $70 on the average home – takes us to the next step in regional flood protection. Property owners are asked only to contribute for improvements that will directly safeguard their property. Your ballot will arrive by mail early March and is due back by April 18th.
